As a teenager living in northern New Jersey, Shelby LaBar has always enjoyed singing. After a tragic accident took the life of her boyfriend in January, 2013, author Richard Stripp, who Shelby refers to as “Uncle Ricky”, asked her if she would like to record the song “Mommy I Wish”. Shelby, who would like a career working with children with special needs, immediately accepted the challenge.

Stripp is extremely pleased with the song and has said of Shelby, “Her voice will help get the word out about what is going on in some schools with these kids and, hopefully, ultimately lead to change that could save children’s lives.”
